The Caterham 620R (pictured) will debut at the Goodwood FoS
Caterham may be planning an assault on the mainstream car market with an SUV and a City Car, but it’s not forgetting its roots, with a new entry-level 7 in the mix and now a new range-topping 7 – the Caterham 620R. The Caterham 620R is heading for Goodwood this week for a debut – and consigning the current R500 to the history bin in the process – as the most powerful road going car Caterham have ever produced. The power comes from the same 2.0 litre Supercharged Ford engine as the R500, but in the 620R the wick has been turned up to 11, with 310bhp on offer, enough to scoot the 500kg 620R to 62mph in just 2.8 seconds.
Today, Autoweek announced the winners of our yearly Best of the Best competition with the Porsche Boxster S and Mercedes-Benz GL taking top honors. The new Hyundai i30 Tourer (Estate) has gone in to production in the Czech Republic, extending the range of the new i30. The latest Hyundai i30 is proving to be a proper success story for Hyundai, selling almost 60,000 units in the few months it’s actually been moving out of Hyundai showrooms in Europe. And now Hyundai look set to increase i30 sales further with the i30 Tourer (that’s ‘Estate’ in English, even if Hyundai PR did manage to refer to it as the i30 Wagon in the Geneva press release to the extent we thought they might launch it as the Hyundai i30 Wagon) starting its production run at Hyundai’s facility in Nošovice in the Czech Republic.
